Hey ya know what no matter what it comes down to the fact do you want a band who is dynamic to show they can go out side the box or have them play the same style over and over again I say good job guys explore new styles and find what your looking for!

Always good music! Have grown up with this music since high school when they where not even big. Went to a few concerts here in Sioux falls, SD when I was a teenager. Keep the music coming guys! Everyone here in Sioux Falls are cheering for you!
Good as always

The Spill Canvas never fails to please, but honestly speaking, Formalities was a bit of a let-down compared to the other albums. The music is becoming a little too pop-rock-ish. The Spill Canvas may have overstepped its bounds on this one. I personally though that No Really, I'm Fine was their best album. This band needs to get back to its roots at Sunsets and Car Crashes (which I personally didn't like that much. I preferred the other two full albums a little more), or at least get back to the style of One Fell Swoop.
dudeeeeee..........

The only good songs that actually sound like the "spill canvas" are "good graces, bad influences" and "The Bone". Good graces sounds like a song that would have been on the "one fell swoop" album while the bone sounds like it could fit on the "no really, i'm fine album. The song, "as long as it takes is alright though the acoustic version is better than the full band version. All the rest of the songs on here sound like modern, twangy, nasty annoying modern mainstream country :/ butttt dudeeee i'm so disappointed in this, first madyay's new album and now this..........sigh i miss old mayday and old spill canvas.
Amazing hook

This is another good full length. Way more poppy and less depressing than their early material. Polished up, just like No Really. I would just like to know who produced it. Maybe the same guy from No Really, I'm Fine (Neal Avron)?
*sigh*

This is the album that made me fall in love with The Spill Canvas! I don't see the problem with it. I mean, sure I enjoyed their previous albums (such as Abnormalities, Realities), but this album just... clicked. I particularly enjoy As Long As It Takes. Yes, bands change, but in this case, I don't mind.
in need of a new canvas

I guess I understand that bands change overtime, and I respect that... but I miss the old gritty acoustic soul that they used to have. I feel like most of these songs sound really similar to each other. And when you compare them to songs like The Tide, Sunsets and Car Crashes, and Your Evil Soul.. there is just no comparison (even lyrically). I will always be a fan of their old music, but I just don't care for their new as much. I'll be looking out for a new album soon..
Another knock out

An advid listener since their early days, I baught every Spill Canvas CD the day it came out since Sunsets and Car Crashes. However, I didn't have the money to buy Formalities the day it came out so I had my hopes hanging on a thread until Christmas when my friend gave it to me. However, my hopes fell through the cracks. I understand that change is nessisary, but it is not nessisary to become "mailstream" when everyone loves the acustic based music better. I love Spill, they are my favorite band no matter what, but they fell short on this album. I hope Nick learned from this and goes back to the good music.
