I appreciate the texture and character that she brings to the music. So many times when classical music is played it presents a stiff backbone, white collar feel. I love the gritty, humanistic feel to her violin.

It has some odd takes on several well know pieces but Nemtanu plays them convincingly enough. She evices a nostalgic, sometimes, smokey tone from her violin which gives it an alluring atmosphere. The cheeky take on the blues from Ravel's sonata was over the top and not to my taste. Still it's a worthy investment for those looking for something different. -Bz
