I have read comments about the Studio vs. Live recording. I will interject one thing here, if I may. I have seen many concerts, I saw Barbra and Il Devo in concert. This is the real thing, for me the audience applause is a stimulus and also brings back the memory of the event, and the power of being there. Take a moment, close your eye and pretend, you just saved yourself a few thousand dollars. Il Devo in person is so powerful, it is unbelievable, so let the applause stimulate the senses.

These guys are just unbelievable and how they were brought together 5 years ago and have done what they have done is a testament to how talented they are. You have to listen to each singer closely to appreciate their full voices and what they contribute to each song. I'll take applause anyday when there is real talent singing.

I agree you can go to a show to hear the applause. The applauding takes away from the album. I do not like Live albums. Studio recordings are the best. I love IL DIVO. Live albums do not interest me at all.

I think many artists think they can get a free pass by releasing a new cd from a live show and still charge 1.29 a song. For that amount of money I'm not happy about hearing applause between songs, I find it distracting. If I want to hear applause, I'll go to the show. It's a shame since it seems like a good cd, I'll wait until they go to the studio.
