This album demonstrates Mcmurtry's poetic, attitude-filled poetry. The live performances sound raw and show a real James McMurtry experience.

James McMurtry is an exceptional songwriter and guitarist. This album shows his work nicely. The "Live at Aught Three" album is good to start. Also check out my personal Fav. "Jaws of Life." The Apple review of James McMurtry is WEAK. JM has made great albums. His live shows really exemplify him as an artist through commentary, lyrics, and guitar. Take a listen.

I'm a huge fan of McMurtry. If you don't know his stuff already, and you appreciate great songwriting and guitar work, check him out. The review Apple put on this page is awful and is not indicative of his music at all. I'm a long-time fan and he doesn't have a single bad song on any disc. It's some of the best road-trip music you can find. James is also an incredibly nice guy if you ever get to talk to him at a show. He's got a funny personality, kind of likes to keep to himself, but he's gracious and thoughtful. His band is AWESOME and they're amazing to see live. They're so calm and confident on stage but the sounds coming from their instruments will blow you away. True, true professionals. "Ruby and Carlos" is one of the greatest songs he's written, but there are some others like "No More Buffalo" that might be better songs for a "first time buyer." Buy the whole disc, you'll love it.

I haven't listened to this album yet, but who's the Bozo who wrote the iTunes review above? Regardless of what I think of his opinions, he's reviewing an entirely different album. "Live in Aught Three" was released, appropriately, in '03. This is "Live in Europe." It came out today. Get with the program, folks!
