This album was pretty darn popular when first released. I listened, bought, played and enjoyed it. Then, like all new toys, another newer and shinier when came along and it was time to relegate Julian's Freshman efforts to the collection. I listened today with fresh perspective. This album not only holds up but does so extremely well! Phil Ramon's impeccable production aided this young man's talent and gave him wings to musically fly!!! Listen to all 10 songs. Really listen...šŸŽ§ Hope you understand how talented this man really is! Enjoy!!šŸ˜‰šŸ˜ŽšŸŽ¶šŸŽøšŸ„°

Well, they say sometimes talent ā€œskips a generationā€, when speaking of great artist’s, athletes & actors. However, in this case that just isn’t so! Father’s & Son’s always have had tricky relationships. Always trying to measure up to the father from 1 generation to another. Julian stood in the shadow of a musical Giant. When listening to this album it’s clear the talent didn’t skip Julian & I believe John would be proud of his son & this record. From the moment I heard it’s initial released single I knew ā€œthis kid’s got itā€! While some of the tracks do lack a certain edge, or catchy lyrics, his initial offering as a whole is wonderful!! If you liked ā€œJohn Lennonā€, or perhaps even loved him, you owe it to yourself to listen to ā€œValotteā€, and judge Julian Lennon on his own merits and I think most listeners will find, if being honest, there are some TRUE gems on this album. All in all a wonderful album, maybe even a generational anthem or two. True talent can be seen & heard on this album. Give it a chance. What do you have to lose? I think you’ll be pleased & impressed with his effort. While he may be the ā€œsonā€, of the late great John Lennon, Julian steps out from his fathers shadow & makes his own mark that will stand the test of time. Bravo Julian!

I love Julian and his music now more than ever. I've listened to his music since I was a little girl in the early 80s and there is a definite magic to him and his music.

I love the song valotte. He may sound a littlle like his dad, but it doesnt matter. I think he would of made a great musician. He chose art instead. He probably felt he would have to have a big image like his dad (which would not be fair to him) and people always comparing. Its was hard to make that decision when your in his position. Sean was not around for any of the music so its a big difference. I am happy for Julian and whatever he decides. His dad would be proud :)
