Shifting Sands combines the talents of two well-respected electronic synthesizer musicians, Ian Boddy and David Wright. The result is a spacey, upbeat mix that's very enjoyable to the ears. Some electronic collaborations, though interesting, fail to impress. This one soars. The effort has clearly brought out the best in both musicians. I enthusiastically recommend this album.
Wright said this about Shifting Sands in a recent interview with Musiczeit: "We've known each other for many years and I have a huge respect for Ian and we've often talked about a collaboration. This time it just kinda happened in conjunction with two recent concerts along with another mutual friend and musician Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock. The album, 'Shifting Sands' was an enjoyable, and I have to admit, very easy collaboration, where we simply exchanged ideas and built on them until the tracks were finished. I think fans will enjoy the result and hopefully we'll do something again in the future."
