The "It" Couple Of Musical Scoring

The songs and the movie make a perfect couple. Listening to the songs I can actually see Meryl Streep as Julia, chopping onions in my imagination. (I didn't start to cry :P.) However, I am a bit consternated that "Lobster Killer" isn't amongst the songs in this soundtrack.

I never heard Margaret Whiting sing the song "Time After Time" until I watched Julia & Julia. At the end of the movie when I heard this song, I had to rush to Itunes and buy this song. Margaret's voice and the lyrics to this song just make my heart melt like butter! The song is playing as I am writing this review! :)

this score is absolutely astounding. "Time After Time" made me cry hearing it towards the end. The score matches the movie so well it's perfect!

I love the variety of this album. Adored the movie. I wanted specific songs off the album. I'm going to play bushel and a peck in my wedding reception. =)

So i would just like to point out after reading some of the comments below...that there is a difference between "the ORIGINAL Motion picture soundtrack" and "Music from the motion picture" difference being most "Soundtracks" are the songs from the movie in order they are usually longer tracks than what you hear in the movie...music from the motion picture is usually a smatering of music selected from a specific film...
This is a wonderful Score to complement a wonderful movie...please don't think that is supposed to be a pop album.
The Movie & Music are a great pair

Just got home after watching the movie. What a delight! When the movie was over, I too wanted to rush home and purchase the soundtrack. So thrilled I did. Meryl and Amy were a joy to watch as were their husbands, and the rest of the cast. The music danced in my head til I finally got home and could purchase it. Go see the movie and enjoy the soundtrack.

Okay so I just saw this movie the other day and it is a GREAT movie! I don't think that the album is great although i bought stop the train :) I wouldn't make a judgment on the cd if you haven't seen this cooking and romantic chick flick... the album is not as good.
