  • Amazing album!

This is one of the greatest albums that our lady peace has ever put out. And that is saying a lot. Our lady peace has been putting out amazing albums for quite some time now but this one was unexpected. From beginning to end this album is packed with great sounding and well-written songs. Powerful meaning backed with amazing guitar work drive this album to the forefront of what we know as great music!

So if you like Daughtry or David Cook or ____________ (insert commercial rock band here), then this is for you. If you are a fan of the band's earlier efforts from Naveed through Spiritual Machines avoid this like the plague. It will only make you angry. There is no soul here.
  • Not the same...

OLP Returns! Or not so much. This album is WAY to mainstream 4 OLP, they just aren't the same anymore. "Clumsy" was their greateest accomplishment with 4 am, and Superman's Dead. Now their turning into any other mainstream rock band, they are no longer the original, unique band that we saw a while back. All You Did Was Save My Life and Paper Moons are great songs but the rest is lacking. R.I.P Our Lady Peace =[

This album does not deserve the reviews that it's gotten... it's really much, much better than people are saying. It's not necessarily the old OLP formula, but they have grown as a band, and that's a good thing. They have realized that they've attracted a bigger audience, and yes, Burn Burn is a little more mainstream than people may be used to. They are trying to cater to everybody, including their new fans, and I actually think it's worked out really great. They've mastered the hook and still managed to stay OLP. I really, really love this record. You can't get more radio-worthy than All You Did Was Save My Life. Other major highlights are The End Is Where We Begin, Never Get Over You, and Paper Moon. But the entire album is worth listening to. This is a very solid effort for Our Lady Peace. It's a great record. Buy it!
  • Fan of OLP, not a fan of people criticizing OLP

This is OLP we are talking about! Any true OLP fan will learn to love this cd. Sure, all of us had really high expectations but this is still the same unbelievable lyricist Maida on the record. Paper Moon is by far the best song on the album as it reveals the now not so frequent falsetto that draws us all to the unique sound that is OLP. Never Get Over You is another great one. I agree that All You DId is commercial but it is necessary for the band to attract new fans. I would rather have people listening to All You Did instead of no Peace at all!! Buy this album if you are a true fan of OLP!!

I was so disappointed with this album after listening to it a few times. Recent radio interviews have Raine stating he was disappointed with H.I.P.T. but that was a much better album than this one, especially disappointing after his solo album which was amazing. It just sounds like one long song.
  • Heart-breaking

It breaks my heart to finally realize that the OLP I grew to love is long gone. The departure of Mike Turner evidently played a big role in the demise of OLP's originality. This album sounds like typical, cookie-cutter, reality show background music. I had my hopes up so high. Its apparent that the mainstream success of 'Somewhere Out There' has tainted their creativity. OLP did such a great job sustaining their original sound from 'Naveed' all the way through to 'Spiritual Machines'. The 'Happiness' album stayed in my CD player for almost a year. I even enjoyed some of the tracks on 'Gravity'. I gave them a free pass on that album. But, after two albums in a row of 'not-even-trying' type music, I'm afraid we have to call it - RIP - Our Lady Peace (1994-2002)

Burn Burn is another great album from OLP. Great bands grow over time and OLP has done a great job of this. If they would have stayed the same we would be hearing complaints for that as well. For some people it is a no win situation. This album is great and i have listened to it ever since I bought it. It is an essential album for any true OLP fan!!!!
  • Tittle of Record: Burn Burn...they should have called it: Blah Blah

I was very excited to see Our Lady Peace release a new album, but once it finished playing…I almost wish it had never happened. Neil Young once said, “It’s better to burn out, than to fade away”. These guys have faded completely away…I think they forgot they’re supposed to be a rock-n-roll band. It’s a real shame--I guess the chemistry is gone. I remember when these guys used to kick a*s; now they’re just washed up :(
  • All the same, what a shame.

Listening through this list is sad. I have loved OLP for it's uniqueness, where every song is a new experience. These seem to sound the same. There is no journey, no emotion, like with their earlier albums. I'm not sure they will ever get back to that spot. But we still have naveed, clumsy, happiness and spiritual machines to get us through! Now that is OLP!
