5150 blew everyone’s expectations out of the water. I was a teenager in the 80’s and a huge Van Halen fan. I could not have dreamed VH’s first album with a new singer and frontman would be this good. Nobody did. But here it is. The proof is in the music. Undeniable. And an excellent rock album front to back 30-plus years later.

I’ve listened to this album more than any other in my life. This is the greatest 80s rock album of them all. VAN HAGAR!!!
Truly Van Hagar!

The “name” doesn’t just come from the singer change, it come from a sound change as well!! Gone is the rockin’ Van Halen we came to love & in it's place is this pop rock crap!! All Van Hagar albums are garbage!!
Still the Best 30+ years later

The End of Van Halen

Van Halen lost their swagger and personality when David Lee Roth left. From this album on, the band sounded like a Cheerios commercial. Unbelievably lame.
8 songs are classics

The first 8 songs are fantastic. No band today (2019) can do that. Even the final song (Inside) is pretty great. This is Van Galen’s best album - IMO.

start of the tragedy known as Van Hagar. The songs aren’t nearly as new and exciting as Roth Van Halen. Plus Hagars voice sounds like someone breathed in a whole balloon of Helium. Sad how far the greats can fall.

Completely underrated, and under appreciated album of the Van Halen catalog. Hagar breathes inspiration and new life into the group. And also deserves a much needed remaster.
