This is one if the best MWS recordings. I used "The Giving" in my wedding in '04 instead of "Here Comes the Bride."

Freedom Battle is really pretty much copied from Danny Elfman's Batman theme, and John Williams' The Battle of Endor I from Star Wars, and part of the soundtrack from The Patriot. Not surprisingly it also seems to be the best track on the album. O.o
Amazing!!!!!

This CD is amazing! For the ballet show I'm in we're using The Giving for a wedding scene and it's beautiful and goes perfectly with the show.

What makes this album good is that it's calming, reflective, and meditative all in one.
Of you're looking to just get one or two songs, definately get The Giving over Freedom. The Giving, unlike Freedom, does not have as many telltale synthetic sounds, no obnoxious wind instruments or marching band, and it has a better focus on the piano.
A happy accident....

I was at a Smitty concert last night and heard "the giving" which is on this album, performed live with his trademark tenderness and humour... And I was, frankly, blown away. The song is absolutely lovely, starkly beautiful in it's composition and simplicity. It brought tears to my eyes, and the rest if the album is equally good-- no song disappoints! His talent is evident in every note of music, and knowing that God is behind his inspirations makes it all the more powerful.
Amazing!!!

This is one of THE BEST instrumental albums that I have personally ever heard. Each individual piece was thought out months before they were even written. Michael is an amazinly gifted artist and this is one of his better albums. I would definately reccomend it to most everyone I know. If you at all like any instrumental music, buy this. Or at least try some of the songs. If you're not sure what to pick, pick Freedom (first song). This is an exceptional album that I listen to right along with Hans Zimmer.
