Sultans Of Swing (Alchemy Live) is perhaps the best version, but all jam! Dire Straits music ranges from relaxing to highly energetic. The difficulty of including all the songs which could have been in this collection is evident; the result was still positive!

Look, I know that industrial disease may not be the best song in the world, but it deserves a place here. Also Water of Love definately needs to be on here. That is an underplayed song, but it is great.

Dire Straits fun single before they went commercial with Brothers In Arms-- I played this on my college station in Indiana in '84. A bit of 80s charm the extended play single. Song doesnt try to do anything - no huge solos- just a fun- European rock song. They must have had a lot of dances by swimming pools in England (see Pete Townshen's "Deep End")

How could any "best of" collection omit "Industrial Disease" from Love Over Gold? What a fun song!

A classic band with all of their best music in one album. It can't get any better!

Dire Straits have the best of the best, from the sad, lonely, depressing stories to the upbeat riffs and walking baselines. The classics never truely go out of style do they? Dire Staits cover any emotion a person could be looking for. Light and romantic (Romeo and Juliet), mysterious (Private Investigations), or the bright and cheery music that just makes you want to dance! (Twisting by the Pool, Lady Writer, Walk of Life). Dire Straits had it right... Two thumbs way up!
