I walked through the park yesterday, a fine summer day, and listened to this US Blues three times in a row. Best USB EVER. Great Eyes. They're at their best. This is a hot little show. Holds up against any of those grand Dicks Picks.
Classic and unusual

So this is the "Blues for Allah” album live, along with a sprinkling of classics like GDTRFB, Eyes, and TOO. Keith on the organ is a great spin on all these tunes. Jerry is in fine form. Eyes IS good, but something about the drums irks me…picky, picky deadhead, I know. Bill’s introduction is classic. The “Blues for Allah” encore might be for completists, but if you’re like me and only heard “Blues for Allah” teases and jams live, then you will appreciate a chance to hear the whole suite performed live. I’ve had this show on tape since it was an FM broadcast in 1975, and I played it to stretched, worn out destruction, which means I’m not objective. But then, what Deadhead is?

OK OK OK... don't shoot, I do like this show a lot, it's unfair to compare late 72 with this but I always have said STANLY THEATRE '72 is the best. I also am not a complete fan of the rhodes on every tune? Where's the piano?
The Dead at their best...

I have listened to most recordings the Dead have performed, but this one tops my list. There is true clarity of sound and a relaxed pro feel to most the tunes. Everyone seems at the top of their game. A desert island disc of the highest magnitude. I miss music like this because there is nothing even remotely as good anymore.
THIS IS the ONE to own. ! Buy NOW ..!

If I could recommend just one album for someone who is never listened to this fantastic band, this would be that album. Every song is GREAT. The sound quality is the best live analog to come from Jerry's gang. The arrangement order of songs is perfect. Phil's bass playing is clear and awesome and cuts right trough the mix. Jerry's vocals sound fantastic. The background crowd noise is minimal and that is so refreshing I cannot emphasize it enough. The album is great start to finish.
I recommend this great album to anyone who loves the GD or anyone who would like to come along for the ride. So saddle up and git along little dawgy.
wow, I mean WOW!

The sound quality is top knotch. Epic "Help>Slip>Franklin" to start things off and quite possibily the best "Eyes of the World" I've heard. Great show!

I have to agree with numerous DeadHeads in sayin that Help!>Franklin's Tower is among, if not my favorite performance of the two together. And as someone else mentioned, they are showing true versatility by playin in a higher key at times. Let's just say that Blues For Allah wasn't particularly at the top of my list, but when I heard this my opinion of it rose through the ranks quickly. This album has some of Jerome John Garcia's finest work.
