I agree that this was a bad remake but actually Jimmy McShane did not sing Tarzan boy. Yes he did lip sync on the video but it was actually the keyboardist Maurizio Bassi who wrote and sang the song. McShane was recruited by Bassi because of his style (it was the 80's after all) and his dancing.

This is a terrible remake of a classic track. As I have reviewed many versions of this song and confirmed the original mixes in other releases (filed under a different name, as seen in the Italo Disco album), I honestly think this is a lousy attempt to recreate the classic. I agree with the other reviewer that the vocals are definitely lacking. I think Jimmy McShane would roll over in his grave if he heard this tepid version of this song (factoid, the frontman of Baltimora died nearly 15 years ago though it's widely believed that keyboardist Murizio Bassi sang the original vocals of Tarzan Boy). I've heard some bad remix covers of this song before (techno Tarzan Boy? Please!) and it's unfortunate this version, which tries hard to stay true to the original, only butchers it more. The singing is uninspired and the keyboards are pretty lame. It's like me dusting off my old casio and asking a few friends to come over and try do our own version of the song in my basement. That said, avoid buying this at all costs!
