Every song is just perfect. I love No Turning Back and Take My Breath Away. Even if every song is beautifully created, they have... strange names.
  • Soft and Sexy Electronica

I first heard about Gui when I came across his great song called "Beautiful Life" (check it out). It's a soaring, elevating techno song with super-happy vocals that puts me in a great mood whenever I hear it. But I wasn't as taken with the rest of that first album, since it was darker and all instrumental. This album is mostly instrumental, too, but the entire CD is warmer and soft and sexy, like "Beautiful Life." It's driving and pumping and I love to work out to it, but it's got a melodic dreamy side, too, that is very subtle. My favorite on this album is "Take My Breath Away." And I really love the cover art, too, I only wish there was a digital booklet so I could see more of it-- Pretty!!

This album is a crazy combination of urban chic and heavy backround beats gone awesome! I absolutely love it!

An artist crossover from techno to electronica can produce interesting results. In this case Gui nailed this sucker out of the park. I'm a beatport junky and go on marathon music searches to find the unique and not-so-unique sounds that make my brain happy. Take My Breath Away fills a void in my downtempo electronica section. Its not close to the old days of Tosca, but rather, a solid progression of the genre. From 8 bit mastery, to synth genius, to The Field on valium, this record rips it.

This album has an emotional quality that pulls the listener in like a magnet. The progression from the start to the finish is poignant and soo effortlessly melodic. Ignoring this album is impossible, this is truly the quality in which all electronic music should be being produced with.

This an amazing album. Put it on repeat and let it play all day long. Great for the office or on the bike on the way home. Strongly recommended. NO TURNING BACK ON 2THOUSNINE!
  • Mainstream and underground collide to make this baby

This album is (in my non-professional opinion) a mix of both mainstream house and underground. The reason I say this is because this guy isn't the top of every chart in existence, but he damn near should be. I found out about this album on RA (resident advisor) and after a good review I decided to check it. Not only is it a so-called "happy" album it also depicts a serene and melancholy feel on some of the songs. Though each song stands alone, they are all interesting and quite danceable. The album artwork seems fairly cheap, but it somehow fits with (what I imagine) the message he is trying to get across with the music. Overall, the album is very much worth the money, and every song is at least worth a several listens. Once you buy the album though, there is no turning back ; ). Enjoy!
