A friend of mine turned me on The Casting Out, and I'm glad he did! Nathan's voice is incredible and the band has a powerful sound. I just saw The Casting Out up close at a house show in Cleveland, Ohio, last night and was blown away by the sheer talent of this band. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. I would recommend this CD to anyone...and I have!

Easily one of my favorite albums from the last year, "Go Crazy..." offers up a diverse, but consistently powerful, collection of songs. "Don't Forget To Breathe" is punk anthem that is as modern as it is a throwback to the west coast stylings of the mid-90s while "The Ebbing of the Tide" acts as the album's epic ballad; building and building to a fantastic musical and lyrical climax. The album's consistency from beginning to end is the key to its success while "Walk Away," "Liar..." and "May I Have This Dance" are so ridiculously good, you'll want to hit the dance floor right then and there. Forget who was in what band before 'cause when it's this good, it doesn't even matter.

After the departure of Darby DiNatale, I was afraid that The Casting Out would find it difficult to differentiate themselves from Nathan's former band, Boy Sets Fire. Boy was I wrong ... and Happily suprised. The Casting Out's full-length debut is a wonderful ride from start to finish. I believe that this album is a natural progression from the BSF era. It's a raw, but polished look at getting through the anger and outrage of our youth and growing into different people. You don't exactly have to let it go, but it doesn't stop you from having fun and enjoying youself. I believe that's the one word that sums up this release. "Fun." I hope that The Casting Out sticks around for a long time ... cause honestly, I haven't enjoyed music this much in quite a while.

Not quite BoySetsFire but moving a lot more in that direction compared to the EP. I can't wait to see what comes next from these guys because if they keep growing like this I see a breakout!
