Stop drinking the cool-aid

The Hartt ensemble is decent but no where near as good as the Eastman, Miami, or UCONN ensembles, and UCONN has probably the best conductor and arranger in the cosmos. It's a decent album of so-so pieces with the Schwanter being the best of the bunch. Still Hartt pales in comparison to the above mentioned groups.
Wonderful. Simply, wonderful.

This is an impressive offering of new wind ensemble music from the Hartt School. This album represents the finest in new music composition. The album features two new concertos for wind ensemble: Gryc's "Passaggi" for Trombone and Zivkovic's "Tales from the Center of the Earth" for percussion. These concertos are set apart by two short and deeply sentimental lullabies. Schwantner's "Recoil" kick starts the album with vigor and vitality.
The compositions are all preformed with precision and clarity not often found with "college bands". Glen Adsit has outdone himself in assembling this album and has brought the Hartt School Wind Ensemble to the forefront of new music.
The best college wind ensemble
