Invincible was Five's sophomore release. Although it was huge in Europe and Asia, it was largely overlooked here in the States. I think timing played a big part in its lack of success here. The wave of popularity that had propelled all of the boy bands to the top of the charts in the late '90s had begun to ebb dramatically. Invincible was more polished than 5ive, but still a lot of fun. The highlight is We Will Rock You. I remember when Five opened the Brit Awards (the UK equivalent of the Grammys) in 2001, performing with Queen. It was an epic performance and the boys sounded and looked amazing. That was probably the zenith of Five's career trajectory. Internally, they were already unraveling, and the rest is history. Rediscovering Five here on iTunes makes me wonder what could have been for them if they had been able to keep from imploding. They had a great run and left a worthy musical legacy, but in the end, they were not invincible. At least Ritchie no longer had to live in constant fear of possibly being stabbed.

The first Five album was insanely good and this is a great follow-up. Overall, the first was better. "Serious" and "Keep On Movin'" are undeniably the best tracks and I can't stop listening to them.
