They just don't make music like this no more. I envy everyone that was teenagers in the 90's, I was born in 95. One of my fave albums.❤️

From the beatbox rockin' of "Angel", "Skate" and "Get Down", Dallas Austin discovers a fresh new talent! The biggest hit was the pensive, melancholy, "Before You Walk Out My Life". But 3 singles went platinum including the first single, "Don't Take it Personal". It was a major debut for Rowdy Records , a label that would struggle to find an identity. This 14 year old powerhouse was a old statement for yet another Arista distributed R&B/Pop label, along with LaFace and Bad Boy Entertainment. Monica and Usher united on a Lattimore classic , "Let's Straighten it Out", probably the best representation of their southern roots.demonstrating that these two young Atlanta transplants helped to put the southern based R&B on the map. If LaFace was the modern day Motown, Bad Boy the New York streetwise label, then Rowdy reflected the brand new day in the south where R&B/Pop joined alternative rap and even alternative rock. "Miss Thang" would go on to sell over 3 million in the states and a string of gold/platinum albums. But it's the sass and groove of the beatbox tracks that ankles this album most memorable.
