Reviews for "Let Me Down Easy" and "Rebel"

Roger Daltrey as chosen some great Bryan Adams songs to add to this album, and has done a great job of covering them. The thing I love most about these versions is that while both of these artists did these songs, the versions are so unique. Take the song "Rebel" for example. He totally makes the song his own while not ruining it. As for "Let Me Down Easy", that version was also very catchy. Even so, I still have to give this one to Bryan. Great work though.

I have not forgotten the huge crush I have had on Roger Daltrey since I was a young girl, it was and always be the voice! And the voice is good here, some songs have help the test of time and some not so well, but the voice, buy it for the voice.
My second favorite Who Solo Album

After Pete Townsend's Empty Glass, this is my favorite Who solo album. The Townsend penned "After the Fire" is probably the best song on the album. Although I do love "Under a Raging Moon" which is a fitting tribute to Keith Moon. It includes drum tributes from great drummers like Stewart Copeland of the Police, Roger Taylor of Queen, Carl Palmer of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, and Martin Chambers of the Pretenders.
Love it!!!

This is definitely my favorite solo album of Roger Daltrey!! I think that all of the songs are AWESOME!! I can't get his songs out of my head!! After the Fire is clearly the best song here!! Actaully there is no bad song here!! This album is flawless!! I LOVE this album! If you want to see a little bit more of Roger's best stuff look at the album Gold! But if you want to see his best stuff, just type in The Who (as the artist FWi if u don't know) and you will be looking at some of the best songs of rock of all time!!! They are the number nine best rock bands of all time!! If you don't believe me go on wikipedia and look it up!!! And yes its real! It is called "100 greatest artists of rock and roll". I think that they should be number two or three and Elvis should be first because without him there would be no such thing as rock! Also you have to give The Beatles and The Who some credit because they influenced music today! And in case you didn't know Elvis Presley was the person who influenced Roger Daltrey to make music that was different than what he was listening to in Acton, London! So, thank you, thank you, thank you very much Elvis!
Roger singing like he means it !

Under a Raging Moon and the (regretably unavailable) McVicar soundtrack are without a doubt Daltrey's best solo works. His voice is in excellent form, and his choice of backing musicians is top notch. The reviewer is right - not all of these songs are classics, but After The Fire, Breaking Down Paradise, Move Better In The Night (yes, the one-time beer commercial theme), and Under A Raging Moon should be considered essential to any Who or Daltrey fan. Very worthwhile!
finally, finally, finally!

thank you for getting this up on iTunes. the outro solos on Under a Raging Moon are brilliant - tremendous collection of drummers on this one - Simon Phillips, Mark Brzezcki, etc. First and last songs carry the freight for this one.
This album surprised me...

...way back in the day when I bought it, and today when I still dig so many of the songs on it. I was struck by the depth of emotion in his renditions of each song, and how his voice reached out of the stereo and demanded I pay attention. I was barely 21 when this album came out, but he made me understand about growing older, and how aging doesn't have to dampen your spirit if you stay true to yourself. In essence, after the fire of youth has burnt out, the fire of your passions-the things you care about, the things that move you-are still there. I found "The Pride You Hide" to be truly moving through the raw sincerity in his voice. The song would not have been nearly as effective if sung by a sultry, smooth voice. I was always surprised at how MUCH of this album I liked, and how much I still enjoy it all these years later.

well worth the money for any who/Daltrey fan, this is Roger in great voice. Yes, after the fire is clasic, but so is Rebel and Under a Raging Moon. If you like after the fire, check out the Pete version on Deep End Live

Roger Daltrey's solo career has had it fair share of highs and lows. This album is most definetly a high. Although Roger does not reach his full emotional potential sans his pal Pete on this album, there are really some great moments here. After the Fire (which is actually composed by Pete) and Under A Raging Moon a really, really good songs and either could have easily been a Who song. They both rank in the top 5 or 10 Who solo songs. The Bryan Adam penned songs on here are good too, as well as "The Pride You Hide." This album is not essential to a Who fan, but those two tracks I mentioned before most certainly are.

This album is without a doubt my favorite Daltrey album. It would be up there with "Empty Glass", "Smash Your Head", etc as best Who solo projects. "One of The Boys" where is it on itunes?? This album is a must for any Who fan and certainly any fan of Daltrey! Bryan Adams fans should also take a gander.
