Have seen the motion picture many times since it came out in 1980. One of my all-time favorite albums. No matter how much time passes between listening to Ry Cooder's renditions of these various songs, I always come back to them. I had the opportunity to speak to David Carradine after the film was introduced. He told me it was the most fun he ever had making a movie.

.."Rally Round The Flag; Boys!"..Ahh; We're so pleased that the Movie Music of that reclusive guitar genius Ry Cooder is once again available! (I've been a Jesse James buff ever since "The Left-Handed Gun" with the late; great Paul Newman!) "The Long Riders" was a very under-rated "Cowboy Classic" Western that actually cleverly cast real-life acting brothers: The Quaids & The Keaches as the Outlaw brothers The James's & The Youngers!-And Ry Cooder & his tasteful arrangements really hearken on back to that Appalacian/Civil War vibe; Like some long-lost songbook from the dying days of the "Wild; Wild West!" Highly Reccommended!-"Ride On!"...by Grimmbo.
