I first remember hearing Hippychick in 1990 and seeing the music video for it on MTV. I thought the song and the chicks in the video were strange indeed but I was really digging the song. We all know Hippychick but Freaky was the second single from this album. I saw the cassette single for sale in record stores but never heard it. More than a decade later I found a sealed copy of this album for sale on the clearance shelf of a record store I frequented over the years. I bought it and I was surprised to find I enjoyed the whole album. It has an overall positive and uplifting vibe except for the dark, brooding bonus instrumental track they saved for last, which has it's own personal appeal to me. My favorite tracks are Hippychick of course, New Love Generation, Freaky, Goddess and the strange bonus track instrumental, Zombies Walk The Cardboard City. Freaky is my jam and I see why it was chosen as the second single though it wasn't as successful as the smash hit Hippychick. I managed to download the 12" Version of Hippychick from somewhere a few years ago. I keep it and this album in my iPod Touch. I hope this album gets a remastered reissue someday because it desperately needs one. The sound quality needs to be updated to today's standards. Including the 12" versions of Hippychick and Freaky would be great extra content. This was a great alternative dance album from the beginning of the 90's and I don't know why some record company hasn't taken an interest to remaster and reissue it. From these reviews It clearly hasn't been forgotten.

Whole album is beautifully done. My perfect playlist - Dido, Cranberries, Soho, Glasser, and Cocteau Twins. I love this kind of voice! Thank you also for making more than half of the album 69 cents!

I, too, purchased this album on cassette when it was first released and I've missed it over the years after it was lost somewhere. SO glad to have rediscovered it here on iTunes! "Hippychick" is super-groovy but I adore the upbeat "Nuthin on My Mind." "Girl on a Motorbike" made me seriously consider moving to Europe and finding myself a Motorcycle Mademoiselle! ;) I'm not even sure how I first heard of SoHo but I think this was one of the very first albums I ever owned that I could listen to from start to finish, over and over. I'm going to enjoy cranking this up and bopping around the house with my 2 year-old! FUN!!

One of my favorite first to last song cds ever. BRILLIANT.

Don't get me wrong, Hippychick is a great song and it's the one everyone remembers. But I bought this album on cassette when it came up (yes, I'm old) and there are a lot of good songs here. Nuthin' On My Mind is catchy as anything, and God's Little Joke and Girl On A Motorbike are also solid songs. Check out the rest of the album and I know you'll be pleasantly surprised.

This albumwas awesome in the early '90's and still is refreshing to listen to today. Their sound will never be matched and is very unique to them, one could pick them out anywhere.

Specifically - Hippy Chick - This is one great song, and it took way too long for iTunes to find this song and get it into their library.... It certainly will be one of the best 0.99 you ever spend on a song, not to mention you spend more on a cup of coffee now a days! :-) Enjoy!

I totally remember hearing this song when Brandon lost it to his old girlfriend from Minnesota! It's got a great beat and every now and then you hear it in Muzac when you're out at a restaurant. It brings back memories each time.
