that's all I can say right now, I am wowed by the live version of echoes and i'm dissapointed that every place i know of is album only fr this. There were hardly any sites that even let me hear this song but I finally found 1 and It was amazing!!!! The opening instrumental is great and then when the vocals come on, david gimour makes the song kind of darker but that's fine with me. And the instrumental! I was friggin amazed, it was not only done perfectly, it was improved with a harder rock guitar! And then it goes into the "distorted whale solo" which is what it's called, and it was pretty impressive to pull it off. It goes on and picks up strength until it reaches my favorite part, The solo at 17:52, ABSOLUTLY PERFECT! Then it picks up again fr a couple seconds until it reaches the last verse. Then it has a closing instrumental, extended just a little, and finally end with a well-deserved roaring applause. Buy the album just for that song and shine on you crazy diamond, Worth $15 by itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
David Gilmour-Live in Gdansk

I would give this album more than 5 stars if I could. Just love it! Gilmour still sounds in perfect voice, if not better. He breathes new life into already great Floyd hits, and ,if possible, makes them sound even better than ever on this cd.
He plays guitar with such grace and effortless finesse. Wonderful to watch and hear. A must have album for Gilmour and Floyd fans alike.
Must Have!!!!!

Fantastic recording - the massive orchestra just adds a whole other dimension to the sound. This is an interesting compilation of material, the best of Floyd and of Gilmour's recent solo work (on an island = amazing). If you like Gilmour (as anyone with any musical taste does) this is one you should pick up. Loaded with Gilmour's signature style, both vocally and from his guitar. Can't wait for more!
Buy the Deluxe version!

I'm totally satisfied with the sound, the order of songs, the quality of delivery and everything that could be mentioned with the "download" version HOWEVER, The digital booklet that comes with the download specifically mentions a track "Wot's...the deal". This was a great re-issue of this song. I had never even heard of the track prior to my purchase of the Royal Albert Hall DVD & when I did hear it I fell in love. Then, after downloading this "Live @ Gdnask", I noticed that in my digital booklet this song (that was only on the Royal Albert Hall DVD) "Wot's the deal" is track #14 but I'll be damned...IT'S NOT THERE! (in the Live @ Gdansk). If I had known this I would have just simply bought the DVD/CD (of Live @ Gdansk)! It's little things like this, along with the timing of this release, which seems however to be oh-so-timed, since the Albert Hall DVD came out last year to be a little bit redundant. It's just a little annoying that in 2007 w get a great DVD & in '08 we get the same redundancy...??? Great marketing but come 'on......Wot's the deal???? Other than that, if you don not have the Royal Albert Hall DVD then by all means do purchase, I would just suggest the DVD through a store rather than the "dwonload" through itunes

David Gilmour is one of the few guitarists you can recognize just by the style and sound.
Others of this type: Jimmy Page, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, Alex Lifeson, Chris Squire, Jerry Garcia, Eric Clapton....
I highly recommend his self titled first solo album!

David Gilmour is one of the greatest musicians in all of music and he really shows it in this live set! Music has lost another one of its greats last week, R.I.P. Richard Wright
