In 2007, my husband and I had the privilege of seeing Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile perform together at the Germantown (TN) Performing Arts Centre. This album is reminiscent of that incredible performance. We have longed to hear more from Thile and Meyer, so we're thrilled that they recorded this album. These two brilliant musicians are taking their gifts to a new level. We look forward to more in the future!

When I first saw the list of songs, I was doubtful, considering the titles are somewhat comedic. However, on my drive to work, I popped it in, and was instantly captivated by the beauty, yet simplicity of the album. Thile and Meyer mesh classical and rural themes beautifully and perform it with an amazing style only they can bring to the table. Add this to your library. You won't be dissapointed.

This is great stuff. You need to know what you're getting into however. If you are familiar with either of these artists, you know what to expect. If you're not familiar, take a listen and keep an open ear, it may not be what you're used to, but it will satisfy.

If you know Edgar Meyer, you know what to expect. If you know Chris Thile you know what to expect. This album delivers on every aspect. Entirely listenable even for the uninitiated, & thoroughly delightful for the afficianado.

For those not acclimated to Edgar and Chris' collaborative work, this album might seem a bit odd. The sound of this album is quite laid-back, as it was recorded in the home of Edgar himself. It is very easy to hear that Chris and Edgar play together very well, knowing each other's nuances throughout each piece. Every track on the album is a gem in and of itself, carefully written by Meyer and Thile. Standouts on the disc are "Just As Well," "Fence Post in the Front Yard," "Cassandra's Waltz" and "The Farmer and the Duck." If you are a fan of either perfomer, this album gives you yet another insight into the virtuosity of each musician on their respective instrument.
