The music has great emotion and keeps the audience's attention with suspense and beautiful melodies. The orchestra performed it very well. This is by far my favorite album!
Average Burwell...

For Burn After Reading, Carter Burwell shows us his wacky approach to film scoring again for his latest collaboration with the Coen brothers. There are two principle "themes" I'm going to address. The first could be called the title theme. It's simply rhythmic percussion music that is apparently intentionally overdramatic. It's oddly fitting for the strangeness of the main characters. The second theme heard in "Linda Looks for Love" typical Burwell: dreary, sad music that is very reminiscent of Philip Glass' Kundun or The Hours. If you're a fan of Carter Burwell, buy this album. If you're not, you probably won't find much value in it; it's nothing new for Carter Burwell and definitely not for the world of film music.

If you like Earth Zoom (In) and (Out) you'll love Kanye West's - Coldest Winter. It's real EPIC!
I thought it seemed familiar

I honestly hated Burn After Reading, but the soundtrack was great. The funny thing is, as I was watching it, (unknowing that Carter was the composer,) I thought the sound slightly resembled Twilight. HA!
Burwell has done better

But it's not a Glass rip-off. He's a much better composer then Glass. Heck anyone else is better then Glass so that isn't saying much. As a stand alone album this doesn't flow all that well though as it does work in the film, which for movie music is what counts.
Good, but ummm, a Philip Glass rip-off

It's a good soundtrack, but a total copy of style from composer Philip Glass. Danny Elfman did the same thing for his score to "Standard Operating Procedure." If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then this soundtrack is a flattering hommage to Glass. None of this to say that this music isn't good, or doesn't work with the film. I'm just saying that it's unoriginal and I don't know why an artist would be happy with imitation. And trust me, he knew what he was doing.
Hilarious movie

all the incidental "gym" music was provided by Tummy Touch Records. I think it should all be on iTunes somewhere. I recognised music by Crazy Girl, Organic Audio and Revolvo.
