Reviews

  • Terrifying, or soothing, I'm not sure which.

I found this to be very accessible for Anderson. The cultural references are to the first Gulf war--NIght in Baghdad is Laurie A reading a transcript of CNN's hip-hip-hooray coverage of the bombing the first night of the air war. But the lonely-highway songs at the beginning are the real treat. If you can hear this alone, on a summer night, driving in your car, it's truly terrifying, or soothing. Depends on your outlook. Give this one a chance.

1994 / Original beyond it's years / heck, it's original for 2008! It'lll be original in 2084! This one's from another world. Ambient? Yep. Progressive? You bet. GREAT? Oh Ya! But it stretches the envelope... If you're searching for the pop world musical formula... You've come to the wrong album. Laurie is an artist @ work. She weaves a tail / dark / hidden humor / rhythmic & infectious... But on ething holds true / this is not the same ol' music indusrty same Time Tomorrow. Nope / this one will leave the listner Speechless with the Freefall of the Bright Red / Tightrope in the World Without End. Check it out / if you dare. Don't worry, it's not Poison! & it does Speak My Language.
