Nice summertime grooves from Forro in the Dark

Just in time for the warm weather, Forro in the Dark comes out with a reggae-tinged forro fusion EP. After downloading "Bonfires of Sao Jao," which is on constant shuffle on my iTouch, I decided to add these 5 songs. They do not disappoint. "Nonsensical" is a quirky piece defending the righteousness of Marley's grooves; "Lost in the Ballroom" is a slower variation on forro where one imagines the flautist stumbling around the dancefloor; "Chororo" and "Sebastiao" pick up the pace whereas "Dia de Roda" has a very breezy feel to it. If you like world, reggae or Brazilian music (or the amalgamation that is this NYC band's forte), Forro in the Dark's creativity in composition does not disappoint.
