Wow, no ones who I am talking about when I mention Black.. Have original album.. Bought in 1988 when I was living outside Washington, D.C... I still love his voice.. Glad I held on to my old albums
  • New Acoustic interpretations

As the previous reviewers point out, if you are looking for the alt pop versions of Black's work that you first fell in love with, this is not what you will find here. However, if you are up for live and acoustical reinterpretations of songs like "Sweetest Smile," "Wonderful Life", and "Everything is Coming Up Roses," then this is definitely worth a second look. While these versions do not replace the versions I recall from decades ago, they display -- free of the synthesizers and with a quiet, rich musicality — the writing and craft that gives these songs power. These are, for a lack of a better term, 'grown up' versions of songs that retain their beauty and their power. They deserve their own place as new interpretations of the songs -- equal but distinct from the more commercial versions we are familiar with.
