The album is beautiful! I also had the pleasure of seeing k. d. perform many of these lovely songs in concert in Kingston, NY. Don't miss the opportunity to see her in concert. You will be amazed. She is truly phenomenal and this album is reflective of another dimension.

Honestly, iTunes, $14.99? are you out of your mind? Do you people work for Wall Street or something? Sure, KD rocks, but for $14.99, sorry, no deal. Ill move onto another artist...GET REAL!

Hallelujah is one of the best songs recorded by anyone anytime. It gives me chills every time I listen to it.

  • Review the music: iTunes complaints elsewhere

Hi y'all... if you're complaining about the price, did you notice that this is the SPECIAL EDITION??? There is another link where you will find this wonderful album at the regular nice price of $9.99, without the live cuts, of course. And if you head to Amazon, you'll find... uhm... nothing else. They don't have this special edition for download. SORRY. And before you complain about the price structure, be aware that iTunes is only able to offer this album at the price allowed by the record company. Even k. d. doesn't have control over this. If you find it at a lower price, vote with your dollars. What is surprising is that these special cuts aren't restricted to "ALBUM ONLY." Keep the reviews to the merits/faults of the music.
  • You Won't Need Sominex to Sleep....Just Listen To This Album

'Ingenue' was released at the perfect time; it seemed that the majority of the lyrics and tonality of music was moody/reflective...darn right dark. You can only take so much of that...one has to get 'over it'. That's how I felt with this particular album. The darkness just doesn't work for k.d. anymore....she needs a new course...new arrangers. Her voice is flawless...clear.. just outright striking. All the darkness just overwhelms the product negatively.
  • I watched her sing "Thread" on Craig Ferguson . . .

. . . and fell in love again. Watching her perform is intimate and gorgeous. She is mesmerizing, thrilling -- a true genius and the greatest vocalist of our age. Unfortunately, her music does not translate well when recorded. The end result is over-blown, over-produced, and a vocal equivolent of musac. The wall of sound that fills the background of every song makes every song sound like the one before. She doesn't need the support that such orchestration gives to lesser singers. It's a tragety because what we will be left with at the end of her career is album after album of painful lounge music. -- k. d., where are the standards that you were born to sing?
