Even though Jeff Porcaro is no longer here on this Earth physically. Spiritually he lives on in the hearts minds and memories of all his fans. His shuffles and grooves will be learned by many drummers. And all those artists that made records with him are still deeply affected
by his tragic passing. But thanks to You-tube there are videos and audio to remember him for his enduring legacy. And all those songs that featured his superb drumming. As was said before. What a tremendous talent that gave of himself.Still the best and forever my number one favorite heartstrings drummer of all time. And gorgeous Dreamyeyed Angel.π±πΏππππππ€ππππ²πΊβ€οΈπ§π±π

In spite of the critisism surrounded by the onset of a talented pianist, songwriter and vocalist turn synth dance diva, this LP/cd was actually one of Manchester's most successful LP due mostly in part of the one time dance track You Should Hear How She Talks About You. The song reached the top 5 and earned a Grammy. The title song Hey Ricky, written by Manchester and Elton John's partner Bernie Taupin, was a sassy rock track that also stood on it's own in this diverse collection. The initial single was actually Race To The End, The theme to Chariots Of Fire put to words. Melissa's soaring vocals did not sway the buying public. Your Place Or Mine with it's tech-jazz arraingement was featured in the movie A Little Sex. Carole Bayer Sager wrote Looking For The Perfect Ahh... which was another pop track reflecting the day. I'll Always Love You always reminded me of an Anne Murray song instead of Manchester, though she fairs well with it. One of my favorite tunes here is Someone To Watch Over Me, a Gershwin classic that was also featured recently in an alternate take on a compilation CD.
Defining moments...

The 80's were defined by dramatic ballads. This album is full of them.....and I love it! I remember the day when this album came on a cassette tape (kids ask your parents) in a box from a music club. I played it and I was hooked. I grew up and lost the tape of course but always remembered how much I loved her music. Finally, now on iTunes I am brought back to my childhood. I know EVERY single word of the first 5 tracks...and I haven't heard these songs in 20 years! They are catchy, dramatic, emotional and shockingly relevant to relationships and life. Maybe more so now that I understand what some of the lyrics actually refer to!!! Enjoy!!!
