simply one of the best records out there,, it has a great range of styles: cyclic episode is exciting postbop [all the solos are great, also check out aaron parks the pianist on this track], kate song has a contemporary fusiony feel to it with some great fender rhodes by robert glasper, benny's with a nice latin groove, lionel loueke has a great guitar solo.. duke elingtons sound of love is a great tune, and walter really knocks it out the park with his beautiful tone and interpretation P.o.s. is another original, and the melody and vibe is rlly nice here--the musicians all really gel together Blues, is a fierce closer, with a fast, jittery melody and a rlly killin solo. BUY THIS ALBUM, you wont be able to stop listening to itt :D

This is the best-recorded album I've ever heard. The artist has composed a wide-ranging series of tracks that cross paths with sounds of Return to Forever (nice blend of vocals and sax in Kate's Song) with rhythmic gamelon-like sounds (Tail of Benin). Did I mention it's recorded well? Walter and his crew are amazing - this music stands up to many listenings and shows that jazz can always create newness.
