You can hear zouk being born on the title track. Listen for that first bridge, about a minute into the song. The bass and the horns come in and it's like Desvarieux pulls back a curtain to reveal a whole new world. Gives me chills. The rest of the album is devoted to diverse experiments, some successful ("La Rue Zabim"), some not so much ("Sweet Florence").
