1st 5-star rating I've ever given. May be the only one I ever give. Truly dynamic.

I just saw Matthew perform at the Yoga Journal Conference in Florida - I have to say it was a fantastic surprise. This man (as young as he is) has captured movement on the string of his cello like no one else could. The first thing that I did when flying home last night was to run to my computer to download this album, and now I get to teach yoga with this rich sound in the background. It seems to go wherever you want it to - it can be fast, or you can slow down like molasses to this, you can go to dark places or let it pull you up out of them. This album has just bumped Peter Kater/Carlos Nakai out of first place for my yoga music collection - but believe me, this ain't just for the mat! I burned a cd of it for the car, and I am giving it away to friends for Christmas. Amazing. Thanks, Matthew, it was truly a pleasure to experience your craft.

Hard to believe that this music is created by one man, strung together through looping. More amazing is the fusion of sounds created by just one instrument... I feel like I'm at the Eighteenth Street Lounge in DC while listening to this CD. A little bit of inexperience with the cello shows through in some places, but for the short time that Matthew Schoening's been playing the electic cello, he certainly can rock out. I bet the next CD will be even better. Check out Emotional Clockwork and Alignment.

I just bought the CD and it’s my emotional equivalent to chocolate! I listen to it at home, work and in the car. It’s actually really versatile. It fits every scene lol. It’s great concentrating/soothing music for work, inspiring/soothing in the car… and entertaining/soothing at home :) Mhmm… I’m hooked!
