Although I've never been a serious Cult fan, I've enjoyed quite a few of their releases over the years. "Born Into This" does not disappoint! Sure, it could be a little harder, but the production quality, song writing, and band chemistry is undeniable. Ian Astbury still has it!
After just a few days of listening, my favorite tracks are “Citizens”, “Diamonds”, “I Assassin”. That list may grow with each listen. “Dirty Little Rockstar” has a nice groove, but it doesn’t really do it for me.
The Real Deal!!!

Ya know what? This album rules. It does. I only give it 4 stars because it isn't my favorite Cult album.
As a child of the 80's, I grew up listening and banging my head, to the likes of Whitesnake (even before the 1987 album), Tesla, Queensryche and of course, The Cult. I dare say that The Cult was the least "commercially" successful. Take that for what it is worth. But, I ask you... have any of those other three bands gotten better with age? Have any of the 80's hard rock bands actually gotten better? The Cult has.
Another reviewer mentioned how each Cult album is different, true to the album, but different than everyother Cult release. They each have a theme if you will. This is no different. There are rockers, trippy "old Cult" type tunes, and even an introspective near ballad. It is all great.
I could honestly care less if this album sells a million copies. I have it and it rocks. I don't think The Cult care either. If they did, they would put out a cover album and advertise it on VH-1 Classic, joining Shaw-Blades, Tesla, Poison, and soon Queensryche.
The Cult follow their own path, and we are all better for it. Thanks guys, oh, and the new rhythm section kicks.

Billy Duffy the riffmeister returns...Ian Astbury sounds fantastic. The tracks on this release rock. Crank it...feel it... There is plenty of sweet spots on this release to satisfy the die hard fans and gain new. In a sea of crap wanna rockers out there it is a refreshing recharge to my brain. Classic ear candy from The Cult--thanks guys...
Excellent Cult Album

Dare I say a Cult Classic? My favorite album by the Cult is the 1994 self-titled disc, and this one reminds me of that one. I think the best songs are Citizens, Tiger in the Sun, Savages and Sound of Destruction. The only song I don't care much for is Holy Mountain. I want to love it, because I know it's a special song for Ian Astbury, but it hasn't caught on yet.

Say what you want, the chemistry between Ian and Billy continues to rise above all like the maturity of a fine wine (Jack Daniels). In an industry that suffers by the day with shallow talent, The Cult proves that integrity prevails! Buckle-in for some real Rock! Savages is like the sound of a rumbling Harley at a funeral! Holy Mountain is Jim Morrison's gurney in front of a sunset. Tiger in the Sun would have been a #1 Hit if it were on Sonic Temple! The fabric of rock has changed but the tailers, Ian and Billy, are still lacing leather boots cuz they'll both never go out of style! Thank you Gentlemen for enriching my life with more Pure Cult!
Well folks, they did it!!!

Okay so the Cult made us wait 6 years in between studio releases and thankfully they didn't disappoint!! Wow! They really did it "Cult" style! Great tracks like "Illuminated" , "Tiger in the Sun" and "I Assassin."
Also, don't forget to check out the bonus tracks "War Pony Destroyer" and 'Stand Alone."
Astbury's vocals sound stronger than they've been in a long time, and Duffy's guitars are sounding so all encompassing....So, underrated this band is, and a younger generation has an opportunity to acquiant themselves w/ what real, quality, no-nonsense rock music sounds like, not this over-produced chunder-funk on the the mass market drone ear...."Oh, you want me to enjoy this artists because you are forcing it down my throat....oh okay. I'm a mindless drone and I'll just listen to whatever you tell me is cool." PLEASE!!!!!
Return of The Cult !!!

It's been so long. Every Cult album has it's own style and they stay in that style for that album only. Then they change for the next one. I wish they would change styles within the album to make everyone happy.
This albumn is not as heavy as Sonic Temple or Beyond Good and Evil, and it's not as Alternative sounding as Love or the self titled Cult album. This album is a good middle ground. Tiger in the Sun is my favorite so far.
I've loved the Cult since I was 14 years old and heard the song Edie. Ian and Billy rule. The Cult is my favorite band along side Depeche Mode and iDiC.
I was worried the Cult might be gone forever but they haven't let us down. Please don't ever stop. The world needs the Cult.
