Pretty Sad

Like staring into the abyss,
this recording evokes sadness:
listening to a once great band
on the precipice of disintegration.
I'll tell you this, man...

The best live album. My three favorites are live at the matrix, absolutely live, and this. I love this album for a great combo of blues, classics, and Jim's drunken rants. May God bless the Doors. I'll tell you this... If you love the Doors, no eternal reward will forgive you now for passing this album by.

Everyone knows that Jim was extremely wasted while on stage for these performances, but wow, it's simply magical. I hate the fact that he slurred his way through When The Music's Over and Light My Fire, but whenever he did that, he could just turn around and do something magical to gain back my interest. The first show is the best, however I do like the fact that Light My Fire was extended and cut up into little segments in the second show. Also, the astrology rap in the second show is pretty priceless. It's a good album, but it's mostly for true Doors fans.
The Doors Live In Boston

What a great live album. It has some really great "Jim" moments that really add to the atmospheric quality of the show. Not to mention the timeless music, and great quality of the recording. Interstingly, itunes lists the tracks "Prelude to Wake Up!" and "Wake Up". They are actually renditions of "Celebration of the Lizard." I would reccomend this Doors Live album to anyone (like most of us) who couldn't be there, but want to get a sense of the insanity and spirit. Very, very cool.

This is a neat set. However, there is a bit too much banter during the second show to keep you interested. As usual, Jim is drunk, but the "Astrology Rap" is priceless. The early show has more "music" and will keep you entertained. For the best Doors concert on iTunes, buy "Live in Detroit." There is a great version of "Been Down So Long" in that setlist. And it's not off-key either. Buy this if you love The Doors, but be warned, as a live group, they could be great or disasterous.
Amazing

I cannot belive how AWESOME this is. On my local radiostation, they played roadhouse moan, and no disrespect to jim, but it was pretty funny, because i didn't recognize it as him at first.
The Doors Shine on the East Coast

If you ever doughted The Doors popularity, these shows at the Boston Arena in 1971 proved that this band did not shine from the Morrison mystique alone. From the opening guitar intro in Roadhouse Blues, the fuse is lit and the audience shows their appreciation. Its great to hear such fantastic shows still exist. If your a fan of The Doors, you will love this CD. Thank you Ray, John, Robbie {and Jim} for performing these smoking shows. Paneeks

Being a rabid Doors fan this is heaven for me. If you're just starting into the Doors this would be an incredible starter. You have all dimensions of the Doors leading to the power cut and Jim slamming his mic in disgust. It's all here, both shows. Thank you iTunes for spreading the word & magic.
