  • Third Bad Vilbel?

One thing always stood out to me. If you like Dreadmonboogaloo you should probably source Second Bad Vilbel by Autechre. Even given ZZ's propensity for thinking outside the box, til this day I have no idea how they arrived at choosing that particular piece to sample. Not hatin' just confused.

I know that my tastes don't usually go to strictly party music, and sometimes I love moody - see "Made into a Movie". I love zz tops chops, crunches and smoky , sleezy guitar work. And this album is fool of it. Sinpusher, Let Me Be Your Teddybear - that one always a favorite on the player at my local bluecollar bar. Maybe the negative reactions here a are blowback since Rythymeen was also so incredibly good. I remember similar blowback when The Black Crowes put out "Three Snakes and a Charm"

I am a long time ZZ fan but have not liked many tunes past Afterburner. But this album shakes things uo a bit. I feel it goes back to their roots before Eliminatior. I disagree with the main review and believe they are shaking off there canned rythems of their ironicaly titled Recycler album. This deserves more credit than their last 3 albums.
