I still cannot get enough of this album and I have had it for over a year now...While it doesn't compare to the live showings these guys perform (literally, the best show I have seen in years), its amazing what they can do. I love their versions of the classics, but usually my favorites are the originals. Well organized, structured compositions. Beautiful crafted melodies and heartfelt musicianship. Playing that brings tears to your eyes. These guys are masters and it truly shows on stage. But if you can't see them live, listen to this.

Caught this group on Late Nite w/ Conan and was impressed with the track "Thriftstore Jewelry".
Bought the album hoping that most everything else would be equally as amazing and I wasn't let down.

this is my 4th bad plus album, and i have to say that it is probably my most favorite ever ever ever. not without signature bad plus weirdness or great melodic and harmonic movement. buy this album.
On the bleeding PROG edge...

Great choice of covers as usual for power jazz trio (sorry, I'm in Labels Anonymous) Bad Plus, and they reflect the flush of the new that fans know and love from the band's originals, which also call to you in in a way that all creative musicians would hope to do. Highly recommended if you love a great melody as I do, and like hearing them played with great piano chord substitutions, agitato cross-rhythms and an intensely creative bass-drums rhythm section that eschews playing "outside the box" and instead moves the box over to the left and lays their solid foundation in the new spot. All are brilliant, of course, but as a bass player, big ups to Reid Anderson!
