I am 52 years old and my parents bought this album for me back in 1980. I was in the 9th grade at the time and I used to listen to it over and over again. I love Barry Manilow. I always wanted to go to his concert as an adult but never had the chance and now that I am a recent paraplegic, I will never be able, especially now that he’s touring his last tour. Oh well. I will just listen to his songs and dream I’m there. Love the commercial medley the most! A big fan from Guam!
Easily one of the top live albums ever

This album represented the best of Barry Manilow the writer, Barry Manilow the singer and, most importantly, Barry Manilow the entertainer. Talk about an engaging work...I can still remember listening to this album over and over in the vinyl versions I owned (one wasn't enough!) and feeling as though I were actually at his show! From pure upbeat fun, to tastefully warm ballads and topped off with some incredibly dramatic musical moments, this LP truly has it all. Also, pay special attention to the backing musicians and vocalists, as their professionalism adds significantly to the strength of this live work. I've felt the same way about this LP for nearly 40 years now...Bravo, Barry, Bravo!
Never ever ever!!!!

I own the actual album from the circa time issued, brought it again when it finally died and now I miss it so much I am buying it now from iTunes.
If you love Manilow like I do you will love this album. I saw him at the Greek 1980's & he basically did this album & it was wonderful. He is a wonderful showman and wants to please his fans.
So Wonderful

The first time I heard this album, in 1977, I was 3 years old. I have been enthralled with it since. The music is great. The arrangements are amazing. It's a first rate concert and in my opinion the best thing that Mr. Manilow has ever done.
This album has never gotten old.
One Of The Best Live Albums Ever

Barry was at the top of his game and in full power during this concert, he learned how to sequence concerts by listening to another great concert album, "Judy Garland At Carnegie Hall." This concert captured him early in his career, indeed "A Very Strange Medley" explains how some artists have to spend a few years in obscurity before becoming an overnight sensation. This remastered expanded edition collects the entire concert and like the aforementioned Judy Garland is a classic and I don't even like live albums.
I grew up singing and dancing to this album...

and it has amazing memories for me. I'm no longer really a Manilow fan (i have to admit, not at all), but I had so much fun with this music as a child... and I really, really wanted to download certain songs.
And of course, the three I REALLY want, are 'Album Only.' And this album is not cheap... and I don't want the stupid pop hits (are you KIDDING?)...
WAAAaaaahhhhhhh... I'm going to cry like a little girl! Please, iTunes? Please, Arista? C'mon, how many people are buying ANY of these songs - why hold out?
*sigh*

Manilow has always been a great showman, and this live album recorded at a show in New York is a perfect example. It contains most of his 1970s hits, with a live twist that you don't get from the radio versions. The Very Strange Medley is great fun, the medley of Could It Be Magic and Mandy works extraordinarily well, and the Lady Flash Medley with Cloudburst and American Bandstand is high energy fun.
In my view, this is a "must have" for Manilow fans.
