This is the single best recording, other than the Gershwin piano roll original, that you could ever listen to. I don't need to say anything else.

Urban legend tells that Woody Allen believed that "Manhattan" was the worst film he had made up to that point, he told the heads of UA he would direct another film for free if they promised never to release it. Oddly enough, it is probably his best film. Aside from the performances, and quite possibly, the most beautifully shot film of its time, Woody Allen's "Manhattan" stands in a class alone for it's incredibly bold and successful choice in scoring the picture with the music of George Gershwin. The opening sequence of the film MAKES you want to have this soundtrack immediately. By the last frame makes it the next priority on your list of things to buy - and that's why any film/music enthusist should own this.
