  • Piano Duo: Brahms Var. on a Theme by Haydn

Of course, the piano variations are far superior to the orchestral version. This recording is an unusual aural and emotional treat, with its generous portions of lyrical voicing and excitement. Especially notable is the 7th Variation, Grazioso, with its exquisite dramatic phrasing. I have found no other duo pianists who play these variations so musically and masterfully.
