I enjoyed listening to these songs. She sings very well and there is a nice selection of songs on this album. I remember Charlotte from when she would sing opera, but I actually like her singing pop a little better. She sings both styles well.
Controversially, one of the greatest pop albums ever.

This album was a bit on the controversial side when it was originally released, it was Charlotte's first forray into the pop/mainstream/top40 side of the industry showing her ability as a lyricist and song writer, and even a composer. Her voice is outstanding as usual but the album is just as much about the sounds and the hooks as it is about the voice. She truly broke away from the cute and bubbley image with this era, instead, morphing into an "edgy" and glamorous pop phenomenon with a very catchy record with a very tongue and cheek title.
Tissues and Issues deals very specifically with the issues of any young person growing into an adult, from relationship dramas to quite literally finding your own way in the world whether it be personally or professionally and learning to understand what it is to be you. In a way it's almost written and sequenced as an audible diary or journal of some of her most personal moments which she puts on display for her fans and the public.
The album spawned several significant hits including the buzz single "Crazy Chick", and the more controversial and even more popular "Call My Name" where in the music video she dons relatively risque outfits, with a story that places her either in a burlesque theater, or a circus. Whatever the case the album not only exhudes light sexuality, but Charlotte's very characteristic teenage personality. This was not an album for her classical music fans, this was an album for herself, and her fans in the mainstream audience. Charlotte has proven never to be an artist that stays in one place too long, as the follow up album "Back To Scratch" is far more blues/jazz/rock/singer/songwriter than this album is. If you like pop music, you will love this album, if you like Charlotte Church then you should absolutely love this album. To this day songs on this album are on my playlists, it is absolutely one of my favorites of all time. I've listened to this album since I was a teenager, and still listen and even relate to it to some varying degree as a young adult. You should definitely give the music on this album a try.
NO CHARLOTTE!

Why??? Your voice still sounds good but seriously? I love the angel side of you more! Don't feel as though you need to conform to today's pop society! "Even God" and "Confessional Song" are awesome though!
Pretty good

I've loved Charlotte ever since I was 6 or 7, and I bought this album a few years ago. As any kid just trying to fit in, I admired Charlotte for stepping into a genre that was "cooler" than classical. But now, when it's too late, I fully appreciate the work Charlotte did before. With this, and "Back To Scratch" just recently released it is clear that The Voice of an Angel will not be returning to the classical genre any time soon. As much of a pity as that is, her lyrics are catchy and the tunes are nice. She still sounds fine, she just sounded better before. And also, they should not have trained her voice so hard, so young. That's what destroyed it. Well, I suppose this will have to do. She seems to have a bit more substance than other pop artists with songs like "Even God" and "Confessional Song." So for now, I'll just enjoy her light and frothy pop stuff and wait for the day when she hits a high C again.
Seems a bit wannabe

The lyrics are bad and it's really bubble gum pop and unoriginal. It seems like a producers idea though I'm sad that I haven't heard anything from her lately even if it would be something like this. Her voice still sounds really good though with a lot of bad instrumentals and horrible tunes. I mean if she was going to go into the pop genre at lesast choose something slowler or with more soul so she could show off her voice.
