As an album the performances represented here are excellent. The music, however, leaves me wondering when Wuorinen is going to actually 'adapt to the times' and realize his music is perpetuating an aesthetic that was not even interesting in Schoenberg's time. This music is utterly boring, and self-indulgent. I would not recommend this album to anyone for any reason.
