After several years of lackluster albums by Chess Records, Johnny Winter managed to get a truly great album out of Muddy Waters.

Exceptional electric blues recording. I listened to this many times before seeing Muddy, my 1st Blues Show, and have had the Blues ever since. Johnny is second to none along with the All-Star supporting musicians. A Must listen if you like the Blues.

One of the greatest blues musicians returns to his true form with this album. With the help of Johnny Winter and James Cotton, Muddy Waters is able to craft one of best works, the 1977 "Hard Again". This is real Chicago blues in it's greatest form. This is just simple blues with one of the greatest. I strongly recomend listening ot Johnny Winter's solo work if you enjoy this album.

This album gives any music lover a great sense of what the Blues is all about - power, might, and strength of the instruments and a fantastic collaboration between the three main instruments that make the blues great - guitar, harmonica, piano. A great compilation of Blues songs for anyone interested in truly feeling the Blues in all its soulfulness. The harmonica is especially awesome in "Hard Again," an album which is exactly how the Blues should be.

You won't hear this on MTV's award shows or a sloppy Kid Rock cover 'cause too Muddy.

He got older and he got better. A great career topper. The danger in listening to this disc is you might not want to stop. Pure "desert island" magic pick: "I Can't Be Satisfied".

Anyone who wants to hear and feel what Blues is all about this is the album you need to buy. From the pronoucement of confidence of Mannish Boy to the lament of Bus Driver, Muddy Waters is the blues personified and this album is a must not only for the fan of the Blues but for music in general
