The remix version of Tonight Is The Night is terrible. It sounds nothing like the original All the melodic quality and soulfulness has been completely diminished in this awful electronic version. PLEASE publish the original songs from their Grand Slam album. You will make plenty of bucks if you do.

If you are open to some different interpretations of some tracks that you love then get this album. Mos Def kills his remix of Beauty in the Dark and it's a must listen!

This a great Amalgam of Old to the New. WILL.I.AM does not over power the Isley Bros. It seems as if they have been in the studio for years. If you like the Old with the New concept, check out Earth Wind & Fire's Illumination album. it's instant vintage.

a longtime Isley fan who thinks the originals sound fresh and gorgeous even today, i also love these funked up versions. If you enjoy classic R&B, hip hop and chill sounds you can't go wrong with this album. I love it! There is a reason why these songs have been sampled so much!

Tonight is the Night was Remixed by Sade's Band SWEETBACK and is the best song on the the CD.
  • Not As Good As It Was

The original recordings of days of old were much, much better than the remixes in this cd. I would not recommend this cd if you are a music fanatic as I am. One song in particular is the song "Tonight Is The Night (If I Had You), which can be found on the album Grand Slam released in 1981 by CBS Inc., which by the way is not offered in iTunes. This song is ruined in the remix version in this cd. It does not even sound like the original. Some things are better left alone. The Isley's have always had it going on and to try to redo their music, well..let's just say "How Can It Get Any Better Than What It Was?", It can't and it doesn't on this cd. Nothing but the truth spoken here. /Califrose
