If you're only going to get one Taj album, this is the one ! The band is great, songs are too. Of course I'm a bit partial to my homeboys, Chuck Blackwell and Gary"Stick"Gilmore. The late great Jesse Ed Davis plays guitar to round out this wonderful band. There's a great video of this lineup on the Rolling Stones Rock & Roll Circus.
It's Taj Mahal....what else do you need to know?

How to explain....if you are a true BLUES fan than you must never be without Taj Mahal in the collection. From Leadbelly to Stevie Ray Vaughan and on...no collection is complete without his stuff. This is one of his best!
Must have

This album made the blues accessible to a lot of people. He took Delta blues and made it rock without turning it into rock and roll. Taj Mahal is a great historian of music and an excellent musician. He hears music in what most of us take for granted.

The first set of albums from Taj Mahal are all fantastic, but there is something special about this one. It gets right to the root of Delta Blues and adds several little brilliant twists.

I'm an American Indian from OK. This album and the "One Step Closer" album has a slide guitarist named Jesse E Daivs on these and other Taj Mahal LP's. Jesse Ed was a Kiowa Indan from OK and was a successful session musician for all the top names in the business including Erice Clapton and George Harrison on his Live at Bengladish album and played with BB King. He even has a bootleg CD he recorded with John Lennon in CA.
just buy it right now

i love this one...hard to believe it's 40 years ago, but it still is among the best modern blues records since 1968. taj really goes into all kinds of blues and shuffles and his supporting cast is great too...jessie ed davis on guitar,,,wow, very cool indeed.
