I absolutely love this album. It's full of music that is well written and lyrical. It's so good that I can't seem to find a particular one as a standout favorite - they ALL are.
  • A big disappointment

Lander has definately gone downhill since they changed their name from Rhetoric Tuesday. The soulful lyrics and melodies of their first two albums (The Low Ceiling and The Mooselodge Sessions) are found nowhere on this record. I bought this album from an online store THE DAY it came out because I was so stoked to hear it; now I'd rather stoke a fire with it than listen anymore.

From the opening notes of the album orange chrome sky by Lander I knew this was going to be something special. Sure enough it was. Everything from the songwriting to the music it’s self was top notch. Keep in mind that the band made this album without any help from a major label. They took everything they had and put it into making this masterpiece. In a society where you’re only as good as your last single and 90% of every album is filled with one single and a whole lot of boring filler. This album is a complete breath of fresh air and does not sound like every other song on the radio nor does it have any filler. Every song on the album is excellent. You hit play and let the music take over your body without having to skip songs or start the album at your favorite song because they are all great. If you are like me and are sick of all of the processed cheese the radio and TV are shoving down your throat then do your self a favor and pick up this album. It’s got something for everyone folk, roots rock, country and 11 songs that will go straight to the heart and will not leave your CD player for a very long time. This is what music is all about. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed.

If you can listen and enjoy an entire album, it's worth 5 stars. Orange Chrome Sky is perfect. I hesitate to compare it to anything else. Also check out their previous band Rhetoric Tuesday (also on iTunes).
