It's Elton John playing piano on "He ain't heavy, he's my brother", as Reg Dwight , session musician at Abbey Road Studios.

If you're a pioneer to the hollies, this is a great start, even when you're a fan of the hollies when they first formed.
  • Got ripped off!!

Bought the album, ITunes took the money but won't pony up the album. I hope it's just an apple glitch.

It's rare that every single song on an album is outstanding, this is one. The Hollies were just that. I grew up as a teen during 60's although the Beatles produced a lot more, the Hollies were their equals.

wendyc122, Mixing tracks in this manner was not uncommon back when this was recorded. Listen to some early Beatles singles and you'll see the same thing, over and over. BTW, this is a fantastic collection. A one-stop Hollies compilation you really can't go wrong with.

Truly one of the most emotional songs for anyone who has ever lost a brother or soldiers who lost fellow soldiers Also paid back with interest one of the most underrated songs they ever had on a carousel another great song

The mix on the first three tracks is AWFUL!!! All the voices are on the right, and all the instruments are on the left. If you like the first three tracks on this record (and I do) then get the EMI, not the Capitol versions. Otherwise, the rest of it is fine.
  • AWSOME!!!
