The horn is smooth '50s style; the strings are a bit too '50s. But the horn is there.

Yay 1st review! Okay now that that is done, onto the actual review. Wynton Marsalis has always had a strict line between jazz and classical, until this album. Following the other great "string" cds (clifford brown) he decided to try combining jazz with classical, and it worked! There are some great songs on here with Wynton soloing and the strings going in the background. If you like Wynton, and experimental jazz music or classical music, this cd is for you.
