This is one that you have to listen to the entire album, no standout single, but the entire album is amazing. I heard it when it came out, and I never stopped listening to it. Maybe three or four times a year now, but I enjoy the hell out of it every time!

I dont normally give five stars to much but I really enjoyed this album. It was smooth, powerful, mystical and exciting and on the whole just a great original album. Buy it if you like Santana.

I used to listen to this album in the '70s all the time. Like someone else pointed out it is in a class with of its own!

Get the whole album. Every track is amazing. It plays almost like a single piece of music. The only slight drawback is somewhat muddy vocals on the few tracks that have them. The instrumental playing more than makes up for this, though.

What a career Santana has had! Caravanserai is a masterwork bridging beautiful melodies between jazz and jazz-rock. This is not an album to be tasted, but savored. It really does get better over time. I recall first listening to it in my car, 8-track, in 1972. Now I listen to it and can still recall the keyboard work representing the sand of time and journey. This is a masterwork for Santana.

Santana's masterpiece. One of my desert island albums. I've loved this album since it first came out. Don't get individual songs; you need the whole album and listen to it straight through, preferably late at night in the dark. None of Santana's albums demonstrate his brilliance and fine supporting musicians better than Carvanserai.

If you can get over any disagreement with the spiritual message, you will find one of the most splendid albums ever produced. Everyone is at the top of their game and, like it is often said, each listen delivers something new and each one produces a new level of enjoyment. This stands as one of my most favorite ten albums of all time.
