I have fond memories when this album came out in 1984. I like their first album, but I actually preffer this album over their first. Great songs from start to finish. Eighties metal will always be very memorable!

I can't say enough good things about this album. Condition Critical is full of fun, high energy, party anthems that you would expect from Quiet Riot. Yet, critics complained that it was just a clone of Metal Health since Condition Critical also featured a Slade cover. Using that logic, all of Metallica's albums before Black were all clones of each other because they all featured an instrumental track. The bottom line is this: if you like Quiet Riot, you need to download this album. It has some of their best work.

Loved Metal Health. This one? Not so much. Too few good tracks.
Slade cover is fun but it's the only bright spot on side one. Side two is better but not by much. There is some cool guitar on Condition Critical & Bad Boy. In fact the playing overall is top notch but ultimately it's an album of great players playing crappy songs.
If you really need to buy more than one QR album then do yourself a favor and buy Metal Health twice.

This album isn't really so bad compared to Metal Health just not as memorable song-wise. Sign of The Times in my opinion being a bad opening song for the album is over shadowed and made up for once Mama Weer all Crazee Now comes on. Party All Night is also a good track with a funny music video (that would be an influence for Beastie Boys track, Fight For Your Right (To Party) , Liscensed to Il 1986) that slides into the funny and catchy track of Stomp Your Hands , Clap Your Feet. Winners take all is no Thunderbird but it makes for a decent power ballad while the title track and every song following it are okay but not really the same catchy fell to them. This is a still a great album for the hair metal fan out there though.

Quiet Riot -- the poor man's Slade. If you like QR, you should go back and listen to old Slade albums. If only Kevin DuBrow could have kept his mouth shut. His feud with Nikki Sixx was fruitless -- killed his band.
In any event, this was a good album in its time. Sounds dated, but they were great. If you're an early 80s metal head, it's worth your time. Otherwise, buy Slade Alive.
