I've been a fan of both Rory Block and Robert Johnson for a long time. This is a great album, Rory does fine work on these renditions of classic Johnson songs. Her voice and playing will give you Goosebumps. Alongside “Me & Mr. Johnson” by Clapton this is as good or better, great stuff for any Robert Johnson fan.

Outstanding and authentic. Rory Block has been playing the blues for many years. A great guitar player and vocalist, she's been long underappreciated. Outstanding collection of standards.

I think she has a good voice and is a great player. Nice collection of Robert's song done with conviction.

.."My Baby Don't Love Me!.." Yeah! "Rory Block Rocks!" "The Lady And Mr. Johnson" is a stellar performance from a "Blues Woman" who's been playing the "High Heeled Blues" for a long time! Rory Block should step up now and claim her rightful place right along side her contemporaries; Bonnie Raitt, Maria Muldaur & Bonnie Bramlett! Most impressive blues-wailin' & moanin' & slide-guitar playin'; transforming Robert Johnson's somewhat mysoginistic & death-obsessed lyrics into her own triumpant celebration! {My Picks: Kind Hearted Woman Blues, Come In My Kitchen, Milkcow's Calf Blues & Me And The Devil Blues!{It's been too long a time waiting for something this good to listen to!}...by Grimmbo.
